Hi,
I'm using Amelia in R to impute missing values for my data, but I'm having a
problem. When I include a bounds= argument, I get an error message as
follows:
"Error in matrix(NA, nrow = AMn.ss, ncol = AMp) :
non-numeric matrix extent"
Here is what my code looks like:
imput.bound<-matrix(c(1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,
-50,-50,-50,-50,-50,-50,-50,-50,-50,-50, 20,20,20,20,20,20,20,20,20,20),
nrow = 10, ncol=3, byrow=FALSE,)
blod<-amelia(data=nonmiss, m=5, p2s=1, idvars="childid", bounds=imput.bound,
max.resample=100)
Does anybody see what I'm doing wrong? I tried looking through the
reference guide, "Amelia II: A Program for Missing Data", but I couldn't
find any info on this particular error message. Any advice you could offer
would really be appreciated.

Apologies for any possible cross postings (and shameless self
promotion). I wanted to call your attention to the two summer courses
taught by me that could be of interest to the members of the list.
Both courses will demonstrate multiple imputation procedures using
Amelia II.
July 27-31 - Missing Data - Essex Summer School in Social Science Data
Analysis and Collection at the University of Essex, UK
The course will contain an in depth overview of both theory and
application of item and unit missing data. Following an in depth
theoretical overview with application examples practicals will
demonstrate weighted estimation techniques for unit nonresponse,
multiple imputation and full information maximum likelihood estimation
of models with item missing data.

Aug 2-15 - Data Theory - ECPR Summer School in Methods & Techniques at
Ljubljana, Slovenia.
This course covers practical issues, problems and considerations of
empirical research. What do you do when your data is cooperating with
the assumptions of statistical modeling: non-independent observations,
non-multivariate normal distributions, missing data, etc. The course
will cover issues of operationalization, validity and reliability of
social scientific constructs.
