Does "specify" in question 2a just mean "write out" the models? -Mark

I just wanted to make sure that I have the test outcomes interpreted correctly for the likelihood ratio test. . .
If you get something really small using the 1-pchisq(r, df = 1) calculation, what you are testing the null = "the restrictions are valid". Which means, the estimates from the "short" regression is not different from the "long" one, or the extra covariates DON'T change things.
Is this analogous to the f-test, where you are using the f-dist to test if the extra coefficients DO matter (so a small p-value there would suggest that you should keep the extra coefficients in?

Hey all,
Some of you have asked about loading the data for pset4. Once you've
saved the data in your working directory and executed the "load"
command, you should type in ls() in your R console. This will let you
see everything that R currently has stored in its workspace. If you
successfully loaded the data, then you'll see an object called "data",
which are the data for the problem set.
If you use Windows, you can actually double click on the
"presidential.RData" icon and that will automatically open up R with
the data already in the workspace.
hope that helps -

Hi all,
How do we get R to write out the same number many times in a row?
c(0:20) would give me 1,2,3,4,5.....,19,20
How do I get 0,0,0,0,0.. up to 20 zeros?
thanks,
Viral
