this looks like an interesting opportunity. It looks like it might even be
enough for paper or dissertation perhaps.

Subject: Alzheimer's Association -> Looking for grad student for informal
consulting project
To: king at

Hi Gary,
I run the Washington office for the Alzheimer?s Association. One of the
responsibilities of our office is to coordinate the political efforts of our
grassroots advocates in conjunction with the Association?s 74 chapters
across the country. We are currently heading toward setting an advocate
recruiting goal for the next three years defined as a uniform number of
advocates across all congressional district. Some chapters are concerned
that they will have a more difficult time than others because of prevailing
factors in their chapter territory such as population density, education
levels, per capita income, party affiliation, internet penetration (a lot of
our recruiting and communication is via the internet), etc. It is certainly
plausible that some of these factors would have a significant effect.
We have current advocate levels broken down by congressional district. I
would like to have a regression analysis completed based on the most
plausible demographic data. In addition, I would like to add some additional
data based on each chapter?s investment in advocacy, since this also varies
widely and certainly could explain a substantial portion of congressional
district variation in numbers of advocates.
Could you recommend a student who might be interested in this project who
would do careful analysis and could efficiently find suitable data at the
congressional district level? I?m willing to pay competitive hourly rate for
the analysis and guidance to ensure accurate interpretation of results.
Thanks! Rob
