So, we shouldn't report anything to do with the sigma squared for 2.4?
If not, should we remove this from our function?

In question 2.2, we want you to report the betas for
x1, x2 and x3
and sigma squared (variance of the regression)
In question 2.4, I misspoke. For each regression you run, you will
have 1 set of coefficients. Each set will include betas for the
intercept, x1, x2, and x3 and one sigma^2. We want you to report
the mean and sd for each beta coefficient over all regressions (e.g.
the mean of beta_x1 calculated using the beta_x1s from the 100
regressions).

even more clarification, so we only
have one sigma squared?
So pretty much the variance of the regression (or the variance of
the residuals) right?
I thought you wanted the variance (or standard error squared) of
each beta coefficient estimate...

We want you to run the regression in 2.2 using each of the 100 data
sets. This will give you 100 sets of estimates. Report the mean
and the sd of each estimate over these 100 regressions.

for 2.4, do we need to give 100

And if this is the case, is there an easy way to do this--meaning
going from R to latex? Because, otherwise, it seems like it might be
really tedious.

All,
Here is a suggestion since I am sure many of us in the course are
looking for co-authors & study groups (I fit into both camps). Is
it possible for those that are interested in these pursuits to meet
soon after class, right outside of the classroom?
Best,

Hi everyone --
I am also looking for a coauthor for Gov 2001. I know some of you
from Gov 2000; for everyone else, I am a second-year student in the
Law School (pursuing an academic career in law), and a MSc graduate
of the london school of economics in International Political Economy
(IR dept), where I focused on international trade. I'd be interested
in covering IPE topics or topics touching on issues of law, but I am
certainly open to new areas as well.
best,
John Polley
