Hi Holger,
That message generally means that the package wasn't installed properly.
install.packages("snow")
library("snow")
works for me, but I only have R for Macs, and also unix. (version 2.2.1 with
both)
What platform are you using? Windows? I don't have much experience with R for
Windows, but I've heard of problems with installing some packages
properly with
it. Maybe try the R for Windows faq on cran?

Hi all,
does anyone have any experience with parallel computing with R? I've
tried to get the snow package to work, but keep getting the same
error message when trying to load it:
Error in library(snow) : 'snow' is not
a valid package --
installed < 2.0.0?
Any suggestions? (I'm using R 2.2.1)
Thanks,
Holger

no idea. $P$ is in math mode. $\text{P}$ puts it in roman.

Dear Professor King,
Is there a difference between $\operatorname{P}$,
