P.S. we're also using Google docs presentations for class. Its very fast
and easy, which is useful because we like to make last minute changes based
on readings and video annotations, but you have much less control over what
it looks like and so for more formal presentations when you have some time
to prepare, Beamer is much better.

Hi Gov2001,
I've gotten a couple of questions about how Molly, Gary and I make slides
using LaTeX. Since most of you will be teaching at some point in the
future, I thought I'd share a few resources to get you started. The short
answer is we use the package Beamer. It uses almost exactly the same LaTeX
commands with a couple of different flourishes. You will be able to pick it
up in no time.
Some Resources for You:
Simple Bare-Bones Beamer:

A Great Beamer Tutorial in Beamer:

Advanced Beamer Tutorial:

The Beamer Manual (via Gary's website:
http://gking.harvard.edu/files/beameruserguide2.pdf
The Official Beamer Page:
https://bitbucket.org/rivanvx/beamer/wiki/Home
Note like all of LaTeX, the first few times you use it you will say "Why am
I not using powerpoint! It's so much easier!" but after you get the hang
of it, you will never go back.
Enjoy!
Brandon
