I think set.seed() just sends an argument to R's random number generator so
that any operations which make use of random numbers will yield identical
results across different computers (or repeated runs on the same computer)
as long as the same seed number is being used. I don't think the number
itself has any real significance.
E.g
set.seed(1)
runif(2)
should always generate the numbers
[1] 0.2655087 0.3721239
