Say you have a vector:
x <- c(2, 4, 6)
Then if you do:
plot(x)
You get a graph of the points (1, 2), (2, 4), and (3, 6).
Now, say you have another vector:
y <- c(0, 1, 2)
If you do:
plot(x, y)
You will get the points (0, 2), (1, 4), and (2, 6).
The reason it works for your binomial is that your "y" is probably a
vector of c(1, 2, 3, 4, ...). As a result, plot(binomial) and plot(y,
binomial will be identical.

Hi all,
When I plotted the probability mass function of the binomial, I noticed
that it doesn't matter whether you type plot(binomial) or plot(y,
binomial). Do you know why?
Thanks,
Maria
