You can run the fancy version, but it takes up a lot of memory. So, I
would replace your .vnc/xstartup with the file I sent to you (without
downloading it to the Windows/Mac.

FYI Kosuke,
I have everything set up okay (I can run R in Xemacs). The only wierd
thing, as I mentioned in class, is that I am running a fancy version of
linux I think. It's KDE3 or something. But it's not a problem.
Thanks.
Andrew

If you download xstartup file to your PC or Mac and
then ftp it to your
UNIX account, you are likely to have a problem starting up VNC. If you are
experiencing the problem, follow the steps below:
1. Replace your .vnc/xstartup file with the attached file (without
downloading it to your PC).
2. kill your existing vnc session if you have started one already by
vncserver -kill :??
where ?? is the session number
3. start up a new vnc session.
Good luck!
