Prof. King and the rest of the folks of "Amelia" users
... the following note is for the people who have not
yet used any post imputation STATA module ever, but
are planning to do so with the data set they have
created with "Amelia"
the note is connection with the STATA imputation
module "miest" written by Dr.Kenneth Scheve
say we have generated five .csv data set using
"Amelia" ... where we put the variables' name like
this way "Y AGE EDU x3 x4 x5" ... it's convenient to
convert them into STATA data file for working with
STATA, therefore we made(converted) them and stored in
drive "c", like this ... c:\my1.dta, c:\my2.dta,
c:\my3.dta, c:\my4.dta, c:\my5.dta
once we got ready with STATA .dta files, ... we wrote
the following (Dr. Scheve's "miest" module) in command
prompt
.miest C:\my probit Y AGE EDU x3 x4 x5, robust
nsets(5) iout
this will NOT work, though everything looks ABSOLUTELY
correct with the command .. the reason behind ... we
are using .dta files, by DEFAULT, STATA creates
variable's name ONLY in "small case" and therefore it
will fail to recognize variable in the above command
hope this note will help people not to commit this
mistake in future ⦠it took me couple of hours to
trace out ...of course, the reason was my STATA
illiteracy and not "miest"
both âAmeliaâ and âmeistâ are great module â¦
I'm personally thankful to both the authors, for
writing such programs and making it affordable to the
people of the world through internet
long live internet! and long live human wisdom! :-)
regards, to all
