We can vouch for the ascii input to Amelia, since we wrote that. We don't
know of any cases where it truncates observations, so maybe the problem is
in transfering data to ascii in the first place. DataLoad, which Ameila
uses for non-ascii formats, doesn't work with all data formats.

On a different matter, I don't know if other people had the same
problem, but under Windows2000 and WindowsMe, Amelia would not read
spss files or some versions of excel. When it does, even if it is an
ascii file, it truncates the file. It would read files saved under
Stata v.6 though.
I would like to know whether these are problems related to the operating
system or if I am just making silly mistakes (I used Amelia in the past,
under NT4 and did not have these sort of problems.)
