the model has p*(p+3)/2 parameters with p variables. Ideally this should
be a lot less than the number of observations. In practice, more than
40-50 variables is hard with any number of observations. This issue isn't
unique to Amelia.
Amelia has a feature that will relax this requirement some in that it
allows one to identify variables which are fully observed. These
variables won't create as many parameters to estimate as those with
missing data.
