Evelyn - I do all my imputing in Amelia then data management in Stata and
the mi import flong command is how I get data into Stata. Also keep in mind
stata expects k+1 datasets in your imputed data - it requires that you have
the original, unimputed dataset + all your imputed datasets. The raw,
unimputed data should be represented with the smallest imputation number
(for example, _mi_m=0). Hope that helps!

Hi Evelyn,
One thing you might want to try is to use the "mi import flong" command to
import the imputed data, since that's the default way to load a stacked
imputed dataset into Stata. Here is an example from the Amelia manual:
mi import flong, m(imp) id(year country) imp(tariff-usheg)
You want to make sure the the name in the "m()" option is the name of
imputation number variable. Also, perhaps tryt to set the svy commands
after importing the mi data. We haven't seen this specific issue, so let us
know if it continues.
Cheers,
Matt

Hello
I have imputed data that has been saved as a Stata stacked dataset. I am
trying to run mi estimate: svy commands, but I have been having trouble
getting Stata to recognize the imputed variables.
The data I am using is survey data so I set it first using the svyset
command and then the mi set command. I then use the mi register command to
identify regular and imputed variables. However I continually get a 2(2000)
error, in which Stata does not recognize the imputations.
Any suggestions on where I have made a mistake.
Appreciate the help.
Thank you,
Evelyn
